Gestern Abend konnten Videospielfans per Live-Stream die Verleihung der diesjährigen The Game Awards verfolgen. Die Veranstaltung wurde aus Tokyo, London und Los Angeles ohne Publikum per Stream übertragen. Neben der eigentlichen Verleihung präsentierte Moderator Geoff Keighley auch zahlreiche Trailer und Teaser für teilweise bekannte, teilweise noch unbekannte Spiele.

Zu den wichtigen Neuigkeiten gehört die offizielle Ankündigung, dass es einen neuen Titel im Universum von Mass Effect geben wird. Mehr als das ist bisher aber noch nicht bekannt. Zudem wurde ein Nachfolger zum Survival-Spiel Ark: Survival Evolved angekündigt sowie je eine Neuauflage des Konsolen-Shooters Perfect Dark und des klassischen Jump ‘n Runs Ghosts ‘n Goblins. Fans der Endless-Reihe können sich außerdem auf einen Titel namens Endless Dungeon freuen, ein taktisches Action-Spiel mit Rogue-Lite-Elementen in der Welt der Endless-Space-Spiele.

Preise wurde aber natürlich auch vergeben. Zu den Gewinnern des Abends gehört The Last of Us Part II: Das Spiel war in elf Kategorien nominiert und gewann sieben davon, unter anderen den Preis für das Spiel des Jahres. Je zwei Preise gewannen die Spiele Among Us, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima sowie Hades. Den Preis für das meisterwartete Spiel ging an Elden Ring.
